  From Dirty Laundry:

When Supreme walked in Choice’s room, Petey, Ashley and Nana were all there. He was happy to see that there was so much love around her.

Choice’s room was nicely decorated with beautiful flowers and balloons bringing a little life to her room. Supreme sat down next to Choice’s bedside making small conversations with them. To be quite honest, he was happy when they all left. He wanted to be alone with Choice for a little while. They all left around nine, leaving him and Choice alone for a little while until Mark showed up. Supreme used that time to talk to her.

When Ashley arrived at the hospital the next evening, Supreme was sleep in the same spot he was sitting in when they were all there yesterday. She hated to have to wake him, but he looked so uncomfortable, and she knew he had to be starving.

  “Supreme,” Ashley whispered. “Supreme.”

“Yeah?” Supreme said as he lifted his head.

“You hungry? I know you’re uncomfortable. Go home and get some rest. Your truck is outside. Petey picked it up earlier,” Ashley, said handing him his keys. “And I had someone clean your house for you.”

“Thanks Ashley, I really appreciate it. But I don’t need any rest. I need to find out who the fuck did this shit to her.”

Supreme stood up in kissed Choice. “I love you, I’ll be back I promise,” he whispered in her ear. I have some stuff I have to take care of. Can you stay with her until I get back?”

“Of course I can,” Ashley said, taking a seat.

Supreme put his hand on Choice’s stomach before walking out of the room. Before Supreme left the hospital, he told the nurses no one was to go in Choice’s room besides him, Petey, Ashley, and his Nana.

Ashley sat at Choice’s bedside reading a magazine and making small talk with Choice.

“I can’t wait to find out what you having. We’re going to have fun shopping,” Ashley said as she looked up at Choice and smiled.

  Choice’s heart monitor flat lined.

  BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

“Help! We need some help in here!” Ashley yelled as she got up and ran out the room.

  CHAPTER ONE

Ashley was hysterical as she ran out of Choice’s room screaming for help. The hospital was busy with people waiting to be seen for their injuries or illnesses but Ashley didn’t care as she ran to the nearest doctor, a tall red headed Caucasian woman with pale skin. She stood by the receptionist’s desk looking over a patient’s chart.

“I need help,” Ashley stuttered as she tried to catch her breath.

“Are you okay, ma’am?” the doctor asked as she looked at Ashley with wide eyes.

Ashley rested her hands on her knees as she tried to catch her breath before speaking. She was barely audible as she spoke the words, “My friend needs help.”

Ashley shook her head as tears fell freely from her eyes. She stood up then took off running back in the direction of Choice’s room. The doctor put the chart down and followed behind the distraught girl.

As the doctor neared Choice’s room, she heard the buzzing sound coming from the patient’s heart monitor indicating that they had a code blue on their hands.

“Code Blue! Code Blue! We have a code blue in here!”

Ashley stood by the door as four other doctors rushed inside the room ready to assist. The doctors prepared to try to save Choice’s life.

“Ma’am, you have to leave,” a small petite doctor said to her. “We’re going to take care of her, honey,” the doctor tried to assure Ashley as she looked at her with sympathy in her eyes.

Ashley stood there weeping. She stared at her friend on the bed fighting for her life. Choice was her friend, fuck that, her sister. Ashley didn’t know what she would do without her if she died. Ashley dropped her head in despair then wrapped her arms around her petite frame as she walked out of the room silently praying for a miracle. She wiped the tears away that continued to fall from her eyes smearing her makeup.

Ashley stood outside of Choice’s room staring like a hawk through the big window. The petite doctor looked at Ashley through the window and shook her head as she slightly closed the blinds on her. Ashley peered through the window. She was thankful that she could still see what was going on. She watched as the tall red headed doctor took the defibrillator and pressed it against Choice’s chest. It must’ve not worked because the doctor did it four more times. Ashley hit the wall with her fist. Her chest heaved up and down as she cried. Tears blurred her vision as she looked at the time on her watch. It was 3:54pm.

Ashley looked up just in time to see the red head doctor and a male doctor exchange words. At that moment, she would’ve given anything to be able to hear what they were saying. Ashley could tell that something wasn’t right from the sad expression on their faces. Ashley watched as the doctor took the defibrillator to Choices chest once more. She said a silent prayer then looked away.

She wiped her runny nose with the back of her hand as she tried to calm herself down as much as possible.

She pulled her cell phone out of her pocket with shaky hands. Ashley had to let Supreme know what was going on. She paced back and forth as she tried to choose her words wisely. His phone rang twice before he answered.

“Wassup Ash, is everything okay?” Supreme asked.

Ashley could hear the urgency in his voice. It killed her to have to tell him what was going on but it had to be done.

“No, Supreme, everything is not okay. Are you still at the hospital? You haven’t left, right? Choice’s heart monitor flatlined and the doctors are in there now trying to save her.” Ashley stopped walking as she waited for his response.

“Flatlined?” Supreme said more to himself then to Ashley. “I’m in the parking lot. I’ll be up there in a second,” Supreme said in a panic as he hung up.

Thank God, he hasn’t left the hospital yet, she thought before hanging up. Ashley slowly took the phone away from her ear.

“Ma’am,” the doctor said as she walked out of Choice’s room. Ashley looked at her with hopeful eyes. “Your friend is a true fighter. She’s fine. We got her stable.”

“What about the-” Ashley was interrupted when she heard Supreme calling out to her. She turned around and waited for him before finishing her sentence.

“Supreme, she’s fine. They got her stable.”

“What about the baby?” he asked then looked at the doctor.

“The baby is fine. It wasn’t harmed.”

“Can I see her? I need to be with her,” he said as he rubbed his chin.

“I don’t see why not,” the doctor said as she smiled at him and Ashley. “Only one visitor allowed at a time.”

“I’ll go ahead and leave. Supreme, keep me updated on everything.”

Supreme nodded his head with urgency. “I’ll call you if anything happens.”

Ashley had so much on her mind, as she got on the elevator. She was so happy that Choice and the baby were okay. Ashley sighed deeply. Today had been a long day and she couldn’t wait to get home to make herself some hot tea and take a long hot bubble bath. Ashley thought of Petey. Things between them used to be good. Their relationship was beautiful. It was simple and easy. But as of lately, their relationship had become very rocky.

Petey was leaving home early in the morning and coming home late at night. They barely spent any time together and Ashley was saddened by the whole ordeal. If he wasn’t spending time with her then who was he spending his time with? The oxygen in her body felt like it was being sucked out every time she
thought of the possibility of him spending time with another female. Ashley shook the negative thoughts off as she tried to think of the happier times they spent together.

When Supreme walked into Choice’s room, he was hit with so many emotions. He couldn’t lose her. He walked over to her bed and stared at her. She was beautiful even when she wasn’t trying to be. Supreme planted small kisses all over her face before running his hand through her hair.

“Why were you trying to leave me, Ma?” he spoke lowly.

His phone vibrated back to back. Supreme didn’t even bother to look at his phone. He just powered it off then put it back into his pocket. At that moment, the world didn’t matter. Everything would have to wait. His lifeline needed him. He wanted to be close to her; he needed to be close to Choice so he took his shoes off then carefully got in bed with her.

With half of his body on the bed and the other half off, Supreme got as comfortable as he could. He put his hand on her stomach in softly rubbed in circular motions as he drifted off to sleep joining her in his dreams.

“Yo, I don’t think that nigga comin’ out,” Bear said as he looked over at Supreme.

Supreme clenched his jaw in stared straight ahead. Lately he’d been a man with few words. Bear and Supreme had been sitting in a beat up Toyota Corolla for over an hour.

Supreme gave a fiend some money to purchase the car for him just for this occasion. They were sitting in front of Mimi’s apartment in the Pork-N- Bean projects waiting for Bug to come out.

“Let’s go,” Supreme said as he got out the car and slammed the door shut.

He walked up to Mimi’s door and knocked. Bear stood a few feet away as he watched Supreme knock on the door relentlessly.

“Who is it?” Mimi finally asked.

“Open up,” Supreme said as he rubbed his hair which was rippled with waves.

He put his hands in the pockets of his jeans while he held his head down and waited impatiently for Mimi to open up the door. She swung the door open with an attitude.

“Can I help you?” she asked as she looked Supreme over.

Supreme knew that she’d seen him in the hood a couple times but they didn’t know each other. She knew Bear though which was why Supreme brought him along.

“Are y’all here to see Bug? Mimi asked as she rubbed her big pregnant belly.

Supreme nodded his head. “Yeah, is he here?”

“Come on in.” Mimi smiled at Supreme and Bear then stepped out of the way so they could both enter.

“Hey bae, some niggas are here to see you!” Mimi yelled out to Bug. “He’s back there watching the game and eating.”

Supreme led the way followed by Bear and Mimi. Bug took a huge bite of his chicken while he watched the playoffs on sports center. When he looked up, he wasn’t expecting to see Supreme standing there with Bear. He could tell by the expression on their faces that something wasn’t right.

“Wha- wassup?” Bug asked as he looked from Bear to Supreme.

Supreme stood there looking like the grim reaper as he reached behind his back and pulled out the forty-five. He pointed it at Mimi.

“Whoa nigga! What the fuck?” Bug yelled as he stood up from the couch.

“Nigga sit your ass down,” Bear huffed.

“Sit your ass down right by your man,” Supreme calmly spoke as he pointed the gun at Mimi. Mimi sat down next to Bug and cupped her hand into his.

“What is this about?” Bug asked with shaky breath. When neither would answer, he looked over at Bear and repeated himself.

“Something happened to Choice. You know her, right? Yeah, I know you know her,” Supreme answered his own question. “You were talking to her the day I came into the store.”

“Okay,” Bug spoke slowly as he looked over at Supreme. “If something bad happened to Choice, I don’t have shit to do with that. That’s my people. I would never harm her.”

“Yeah I hear you, but we can’t be too sure now, can we? You were checking for her, right?” Supreme asked with his eyes squinted in anger. Bug shook his head no.

“Nigga, don’t be playing dumb because you in front of your baby’s moms.”

From Bug’s body language, Supreme could tell that he was uncomfortable answering the question in front of Mimi. It didn’t matter because he knew what Bug’s fate was about to be and it wasn’t going to be pleasant.

“I’m just doing a little clean up,” Supreme said as he smirked. “First things first, no witnesses,” Supreme said as he shot Mimi between her eyes.

“Yo! What the fuck!” Bug yelled as he jumped off the couch with tears immediately streaming down his face. “Why the fuck would you do that?”

“Sit your ass down and take death like a man,” Bear said as he pointed his gun at Bug.

“I got this shit, Bear. Chill, nigga.”

Supreme knew at any moment Bear was sure to blow up if things didn’t happen fast. “Choice was raped. She’s in the hospital.”

“I don’t have anything to do with that. I’m telling you, I would never do anything to harm Choice,” Bug pleaded.

Supreme watched as Bear walked up to Bug and whispered something in his ear. Whatever Bear had said must’ve scared him because his eyes got real big before Bear knocked him out with the butt of his gun. He picked up the chicken Bug was eating and took a bite.

“This pretty good. It’s a little salty though,” Bear said then looked over at Mimi slumped on the couch. Bear continued to eat the chicken before walking over to Mimi and closing her eyes with his fingers.

A scowl sat on Supreme’s face when he looked at his greedy friend. “Tie this nigga up and don’t forget to duct tape his mouth,” Supreme said as he walked toward the front door. “And hurry up so we can get this shit over with. I gotta get back up to the hospital.’’

Supreme watched from the car as Bear checked his surroundings before placing Bug in the back seat of the Toyota Corolla. When he was done, he got in the driver’s side and pulled off.

Supreme and Bear rode in silence until they reached the secluded area they had found earlier that week. The area wasn’t too far from the Pork-N- Beans but it was quiet, dark, and private. It was the perfect place for what Supreme had in mind.

A field of tall grass sat off to the left that led to a bunch of trees. A big trash dumpster sat on top of a whole bunch of gravel. Bear cut off the lights to the car and pulled in front of the dumpster.

“Yo, get this nigga out of the car,” Supreme said as he looked around the field, “and wake his ass up.”

Supreme got out and walked to the back of the car to open up the trunk to get what he needed. He changed his shoes and then took out the axe he would need to do the job.

Supreme’s phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and checked it. He wanted to make sure it wasn’t the hospital calling but it wasn’t. It was Mark. He sent him to voicemail then turned off his phone completely.

Supreme walked into the field of grass where Bear stood looking down at Bug resting peacefully. “Nigga, didn’t I tell you to wake this nigga up?”

“I was just about to do that,” Bear said as he pulled out his dick and pissed on Bug’s face. Bug woke up immediately. He was frightened as he looked up into the devil’s eyes.

Supreme held up the axe and Bug squirmed around helplessly. He chopped off Bug’s feet, legs, and hands, ignoring the blood that splattered all on his face and clothes.

Bug’s muffled cry fell on deaf ears as Supreme chopped him up piece by piece until Bug lay there looking like chopped chicken. Bear began picking up the body parts and throwing them into a trash bag. Supreme’s nostrils flared as he took deep breaths. He wiped some of the blood off his face and onto his arm. Supreme threw the axe in the trash bag with Bug before Bear tied the bag up and threw it into the dumpster.

When they were done, they wiped the car down with rags. Supreme changed back into his shoes then drenched the car down with gasoline and then the dump
ster before lighting a match and setting the car and the dumpster on fire.

Supreme and Bear stood in the field of grass watching the flames for a while before they both took off running. They stopped running when they reached the Pork-N-Bean projects and got in Supreme’s beat up Nissan Maximum. He and Bear both took off their bloody shirts then put them in a black trash bag before wiping off their faces with towels and changing into new t-shirts.

No words were spoken between the two as Supreme drove to Bear’s condo.

“A’ight, nigga, hit me up later. We family so you know I got you,” Bear said when Supreme pulled up in front of his condo. “I mean. If you need anything,” Bear stressed as he got out of the car.

Supreme nodded his head then pulled off. Supreme powered his phone back on and called Mark back. Mark’s phone rang a couple of times before he answered.

“Yo,” Supreme said in his deep baritone.

“Nigga, I’m in front of your crib,” Mark answered.

“I’ll be there in about fifteen minutes.”

  CHAPTER TWO

When Supreme pulled up to his house, Mark was parked out front. He typed in his code and they both pulled into the driveway and into his garage. Supreme stepped out of his car and Mark did the same.

“What’s good, ni-” Marks words got caught in his throat when he saw all the blood on Supreme’s pants. He also had a couple of spots of blood on his face.

“Nigga, what the fuck happened to you?”

Supreme turned around and unlocked the door to the house without answering him. Mark followed him in silence as he waited for his friend to speak. Supreme went into his refrigerator and grabbed a cranberry juice. He opened the juice and took a sip before turning around and facing Mark.

“I was just out doing a little cleaning with the nigga, Bear,” he said before taking another swig of juice.

“Cleaning? Is that what we’re callin’ it these days? You’re running around this muthafucka reckless as hell. You’re being real sloppy,” Mark said as he shook his head. “I know you want to find out who did this shit to Choice. We all do,” Mark’s voice rose as he spoke. “You’re goin’ about it the wrong way though. Running around with Bear’s crazy ass is the wrong way to do it.”
